Background Note: The map tour below represents a sample of the results of students' semester-long investigation of various facets of the Croagh Patrick pilgrimage from ancient times to present day. Students examined its religious features, but also its historical circumstances, its reality as constituted in folklore, and its current status from an economic and environmental standpoint. These research findings were compiled and linked to the map to offer a spatial conceptualization of the central features making up the pilgrimage.
